Job Description:

H People is currently assisting a leading steel company in Narangba, in the search for a Maintenance Fitter for the afternoon shift.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on roll forming machines and similar equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform diagnostics to identify and rectify faults efficiently.
• Execute preventive maintenance tasks according to schedules to prevent breakdowns and ensure equipment reliability.
• Carry out machine adjustments and alignments to maintain precision and quality standards in production.
• Collaborate with production teams to prioritise maintenance activities and minimise disruptions to manufacturing processes.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times to promote a safe working environment.
• Document maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and any abnormalities observed, to maintain accurate records.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery as required.

Requirements:

• Trade qualification as a Fitter/Mechanic or relevant mechanical trade certification.
• Proven experience in maintaining and repairing roll forming machines or similar industrial equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Willingness to work the afternoon shift (2:00 PM - 10:00 PM) with occasional overtime as needed.
• Commitment to safety practices and adherence to company policies and procedures.
